Clothes made with care for people & the environment

When you buy a Boob garment, you are buying something produced with care. This is reflected in the high quality of the design, the function and the fabric. Less obvious, perhaps, is our care for everyone and everything involved in the production; the people as well as the environment.

    Our design

Sustainable and eco-smart thinking starts already in the design of our garments. We always ask ourselves: How can we reduce our environmental impact? Which materials should we choose? And how can we help you, our customers, to care for your clothes in an eco-smart way? Above all, we try to make clothes with a long life, and which will become favourites in your wardrobe, or in another mother’s wardrobe, when you no longer need them.

    Greener materials

We strive to always use materials that are optimal for the environment. Since 2008, we have increased the use of greener materials from 20% to 81% (of the total production). Our aim is to make that figure 100%.

The greener materials we use today are:

    Organic cotton

Organic cotton cultivation is based on long-term, sustainable and resource-saving production systems. The cotton is grown without the use of any chemical pesticides or fertilizers. When you choose organic cotton instead of traditionally grown cotton, you are helping the cotton farmers as well as the environment. More than 90% of all the cotton we use in our production today is organic cotton, certified by GOTS.

    Lyocell

Lyocell is a cellulose fibre made from a fast-growing eucalyptus, grown in sustainably managed forests. The cultivation requires only 5% of the water used in traditional cotton farming. The fibre is produced in a closed loop process, where 99% of the chemicals are continually recycled, reducing pollution and waste. When you choose lyocell instead of other cellulose fibres, e.g. viscose or modal, you are helping to reduce the use of polluting chemicals.

    Fleece made from recycled polyester

The fleece we use is made from recycled PET bottles. A good way of using waste and saving on natural resources.

    Our production

The majority of our production is based in Europe (with the exception of three knitted garments that are made in China) to ensure that it is as environmentally sound as possible. We do not hunt for the lowest costs. This is partly to maintain a high quality, but also to ensure that people who work for us receive a decent pay.? By placing our orders well in advance, our suppliers can plan their chain of production and avoid unnecessary overtime. And, we only work with factories that respect our Code of Conduct.

    OEKO-Tex

Our entire collection is certified according to OEKO-Tex Standard 100. This is a guarantee that the garments are free from substances known to be harmful to health. And for you, as our customer, it is guarantee that the clothes can be safely worn next to the skin.

We like to inspire you to think greener

We are constantly working to reduce our environmental impact, at all stages of the life cycle of our products.  But when it comes to energy, most of it is used for washing and drying your clothes. By thinking about how you wash and care for your garments, you too can reduce your environmental impact – and also your clothes will last longer! All garments from Boob have smart tips on the care label.

    Last but not least

Your Boob garments are of a high quality. They are made to be used, washed and loved for a long time. When you no longer need them; sell them, give them to a friend, or donate them to charity.
